Type:
Basic - The natural colored fabrics that have been bleached and dyed into one solid color.
Jacquard -fabrics with patterns of the same color as the rest of the fabric. These patterns are visible because of the particular weaving technique used for making all of the Jacquard fabrics.
Print - solid color fabrics with a design printed on them.
Yarn Dye - fabrics with patterns made with a different color thread then the main color of the fabric
Weight:
We classify our fabrics by their weight. This makes it hard to know what should be used for shirts and what should be used for upholstering a couch. This paragraph will allow you to get a better idea of what fabric weight you are looking for, but remember to always try new things. These are simply jumping off points:
Sheer- 2.2oz/yd - very thin, see through fabric. Works great for handkerchiefs, light curtains or even skirts (make sure to have a slip). Ex: Melodia
Light- 4.5 oz/yd - these fabrics can be used for the same things as the light and the middle fabrics. Ex: CT001
Middle-5.5oz/yd - these fabrics are used mostly for shirts and blouses. They also work for pants, but they should probably be lined. Ex: IL019
Heavy-7.1oz/yd - These fabrics are great for pants, skirts, jackets, curtains, couch pillows, etc. Ex: 4C22
Canvas- 7.9 oz/yd - These fabrics should be used for upholstering, jackets, etc. Ex:IL015
